Description
The Acropolis of Athens is an ancient citadel located on a rocky hill above the city of Athens, that rises 156 m above sea level and about 70 meters above city level and the most important archaeological site in Greece.

The Acropolis is inaccessible from all sides except the west, where the fortified entrance is located and decorated with the monumental Propylaea, which we see in the first panoramic shot of the film along with the Temple of Athena Nike. At the end of the shot we see part of the entablature of the Parthenon. The second view specifically shows the Temple of Athena Nike.

Afterwards, the picture is filled with the Parthenon, the most important surviving building of the Doric order, which is built entirely of marble. We see details from the top of the columns, the entablature, the metopes, the cornice, the pediment and the sculpted figures that it includes.

Across and southwest of the Acropolis we see the hill of Philopappos or the Hill of the Nymphs and at the top of it is the Philopappos Monument that was built by the Philopappos during the Roman period. Two pigeons are flirting on the wall.

One last view of the columns of the majestic Parthenon.
