Description
At the entrance of the village of Agia Triada in Argolis, among the ”Vouzi” cemetery and the rested souls therein, is the Byzantine Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God.

In the black and white film, we watch footage from the inlaid ceramics decoration, the embossed tombstone with the representation of a couple and the embossed representations of oak leaves, animals and fish. The film closes with views from the church bell tower where we observe the strips from the ceramic decoration that run along the roof and the arches of the bell tower.

The Byzantine Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God is of the complex four-columned cross-in-square type with a dome that dates to the end of the 12th century till the beginning of the 13th century AD and was probably built above an ancient building.

For many years, the church and the land around it operated as a cemetery, but in an effort to restore and highlight the monument and the courtyard, the cemetery was moved to another location.
