Description
Next to Cape Grosso is the picturesque settlement of Gerolimenas Mani.

The old days, you only saw huts where women lived when they went down to its waters for washing their clothes, and ships of the Mani pirates who made it their base. It was developed by the Mantouvalos family first and then by the Daifa and Perimeni families.

The film opens with the crystal clear waters of the bay and the lens wanders from Cape Grosso to the bay, to reach the other side of the beach where we see neoclassical style houses and turrets.

The lens captures the colorful boats that are moored on the pier, then follows a young girl, climbing the steep cliffs just to disappear behind the stone houses, as well as the locals in moments of relaxation in a central part of the settlement.

The film closes with shots from the flora in the sub-coastal area where we see one of the oldest forms of photosynthetic plant organisms: Acetabularia Acetabulum, as they are swing by the light waves.

Creator's description

Where’s this? It’s a tiny place near the southernmost tip of the Peloponnese, and it’s called Yerolimin. The little bay here encloses the main port for the district known as the Mani, a district which is quite unique in Greece, and perhaps in the world.
