Description
Crowds are moving out of the subway. The contemporary with the traditional mixes through the clothes of the people. Women in suits, next to geishas. Little boys dressed in a jacket and short pants walk next to the young geishas. Parents hold babies by hand and most of them go in one direction. This may be the annual Shichi-Go-San festival, which is being held in November, in which many young children wear traditional costumes.

Creator's description

The Japanese understood that their weakness was the consequence of over two centuries of self-imposed isolation from the outside world, and they set themselves the task of catching up with the industrialized countries of the West. As all the world knows they succeeded in doing this with astonishing speed.
