Description
Filiatra is a city in the prefecture of Messenia in the Peloponnese of Greece and seat of the homonymous Municipality.
At a short distance from Filiatra is the coastal settlement of Agrilis, where around 1960 the Castle of Fairy Tales was built, a truly fairytale building.
The first shots of the film were taken from a car on the way to the Castle.
At first we see two gates leading inside the castle, a wall with the inscription "Enchanted Castle" and then coats of arms, majestic turrets, loopholes, and a huge Trojan Horse outside, which used to function as a library.
According to the story, the Castle was a donation of Dr.Charalambos Fournarakis, in order to "remind us all, with it's appearence, of the fairy tales that our grandmother used to sweetly tell us.
