Description
We are in Solomos Square, in the town of Zakynthos which is an island in the Ionian Sea in Greece.

The filmmaker gives us a shot of the marble statue of the National Anthem of Greece poet, Dionysios Solomos, a copy of the original which was the work of the Athenian sculptor Georgios Vroutos. Behind the statue we can see part of the building that houses the Byzantine Museum.

On the pillar on which the statue has been placed, verses from the "Hymn to Liberty", part of the Greek National Anthem, have been engraved: "From the sacred bones, of the Hellenes arisen and valiant again as you once were, Hail, o hail, Liberty! ”.

With a zoom out shot and then a panoramic, the entire buildings on the side of the statue are revealed. In the background, we see a part of the building of the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE) and the magnificent neoclassical style building that houses the Municipal Library and the Cultural Center of the island.

Afterwards, we see the church of Saint Nikolaos of Molos, the oldest building in the square, the only Venetian-style building that survived the devastating earthquake and fire of 1953 and was rebuilt retaining its original features.

The panoramic view of the square continues, we can see the sea and Mount Skopos in the background and lastly, the bust of the Zakynthian composer Pavlos Carrer.
